Harry Potter
I love Harry Potter, let me just start out the thread with that.
Not for the plotline, which is surely not the most interesting or original plot ever invented, but for the characters, mostly Severus Snape (played by Alan Rickman <3).

Anyway, discuss the Harry Potter books (yes, the books, not the movies).

RE: Harry Potter
Snape, Sirius and Voldy are epic. In the books and the movies. But the books >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the movies.

RE: Harry Potter
Honestly, if you had told me at the end of the sixth book that I would love Snape, I wouldn't have believed you.
Even near the end, I didn't.
And then, the chapter comes, he's dead, and Harry looks at his memory, and suddenly, he was my absolutely favorite character. Honestly, I think that chapter was the greatest in the entire series, it filled so many holes in the narrative, and brought everything together.
Also, Voldemort's mangled soul after Harry meets Dumbledore in death was great.

RE: Harry Potter
???
The last movie did in fact follow the book, I even read the book again to make sure.
But yeah, as always, the books are infinitely better than the movies. There are just so many things that can't be captured on film the way they are in literature.
